March Service Project: Collecting Items for The Family Center of Washington County

In March we will be collecting needed items for “The Family Center of Washington County.” Please drop off any of the following items at the office:

1- disinfecting wipes

2- toilet paper

3- hand sanitizer

4- hand soap

5- Kleenex

The Family Center is a non-profit organization which offers free services to families, including parent education classes, family activities, book activity bags, and other learning activities. The Family Center is funded primarily through local donations.

Monday, March 9th, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM: “The Fight for $15 — Raising the Minimum Wage”

 Come join us for this important forum on the fight to raise the minimum wage. The presentation will be done by the organization “Wisconsin Jobs Now.”

Wednesday, March 11th, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM: “Blankets for The Linus Project”

We’re back to making blankets! Please join us in making blankets for “The Linus Project,” an organization that provides blankets for children experiencing trauma or grief in their lives. These blankets w230-8sighill be donated to the Washington County branch of The Linus Project to be distributed right here in our county.

All are welcome. There will be projects for people who can knit, sew crochet, plus projects for those without these skills. Please join us for this important, community-building event.

Wednesday, March 18th from 7:00 to 8:30 PM: “March Membership Meeting”

We have invited each of the five—so far—candidates for “Chair of the State Democratic Party” to join us for a membership meeting. This month, we are happy to be joined by Candidate Mary Lang Sollinger. Come hear about Ms. Lang Sollinger’s plan for the future of the State Democratic Party and learn more about her campaign.

Saturday, February 28th from 10:00 AM to Noon: Phone Bank for “Forum” Invitations

telephoneWe will have a phone bank to make calls to invite people to our next “Forum.” These calls will be made to strong Democrats who may not have been to our office recently.

One of our goals this year is to reach out to new people in our community and invite them to join us for our events and activities. This is an important step towards strengthening our progressive voice in the community.
