Don’t Mess with My Religion

Excerpt “There are few things that rile me more than someone messing with my religion. I know that in some circles it isn’t fashionable to believe in God, but I do, thank you. And I take my relationship with Him very seriously. Consequently, I take anyone’s attempt to mess with that relationship personally, and I’m guessing that a lot of other people feel the same way.”

School Board Candidates offer a clear choice

Excerpt “With the passage of Act 10, our schools entered uncharted territory. Without teacher and support staff labor contracts, the District needs experienced and knowledgeable leaders on the school board to make sure that the children who attend our public schools continue to receive the best education possible in the face of declining revenues and new employer/employee relationships. Monthly Membership Meeting

Wednesday
March 21st, 2012
7pm – 8:30pm

Democratic Party Office
132 N Main Street
West Bend, WI 53095

* Starting at 6:45  PM,  Dennis Weidemann, author of “Cut From Plain Cloth: The 2011 Wisconsin Workers Protests” will be at the office to sell signed copies of his gorgeous memoir of the Wisconsin protests.  If you’ve already purchased a copy, bring it in and he’ll sign it.   He will also be talking to us briefly about the book at the start of the meeting.

* We’ll be voting on our county party resolutions.  We have very interesting topics to debate and discuss including (but not limited to) Citizens United, the WRS, the School Funding Formula, Judicial Selection, and more!  I have attached the proposed resolutions I received electronically to this email.  Please read through them ahead of time so we can start discussing them right away.  I will have some copies available at the meeting, but I am assuming most people will print them at home.  You do need to be a member to motion and vote on these fascinating topics.  You are welcome to join at the door – $25/person or $35/pair.

* We’ll be discussing our county’s plan for the upcoming Gubernatorial election.  We MUST defeat Scott Walker and in order to do that, we need a plan!

* Please join us for this important meeting!  Contact Tanya Lohr with questions – telohr@charter.net or 414-467-8469.

Washington County Dems Stand Up To Be Heard

Excerpt “Since January, a grass roots progressive movement has emerged from the shadows in Washington County. Fueled by the Grothman and Walker/Kleefisch recall campaigns and reactions to the draconian changes the regressive right wing of the GOP has used to impale Wisconsin public workers, Democrats and Independents are being joined by disaffected moderate Republicans to find a more reasonable path for Wisconsin’s future. A much more robust Democratic Party of Washington County is now alive and well. ”
