100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

As we celebrate the centennial of the 19th amendment, we should also recognize one of the first examples of intersectionality. Unfortunately, 100 years ago, white women did not acknowledge intersectionality, and even history has not told the story of black suffragettes well or at all.
Today we should celebrate not only the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment but commemorate the women of color that fought for much more than the right to vote. And continue to fight for an obstacle-free path to the voting booth.
