Income Inequality in Wisconsin is at Highest Level Since the Great Depression

Wisconsin Public Radio recently did an important piece on income inequality in Wisconsin. In the report, it was shared that:
“The richest 1 percent in Wisconsin made — on average — 19 times as much as everyone else in 2014, according to Laura Dresser, associate director for COWS. Most people in Wisconsin made less than $50,000 a year on average while the top 1 percent brought in around $933,000 each year.”

Candlelight Vigil Promoting an End to Hate

Now is the time to stand up for our shared belief in a nation void of hate – hateful words, hateful actions, and hateful deeds.

Join us for a candlelight vigil on Saturday, August 19th, starting at 7:30pm at Settler’s Park, 200 N Main St, West Bend, to take this important stand. We will have music, speakers, and the opportunity to connect with others who share a similar goal.

This event is sponsored by the Democratic Party of Washington County, but will have a non-partisan focus on the shared values of compassion, equality, acceptance, and kindness.

Signs and statements promoting these shared beliefs only please. This is a peaceful gathering intended for the sole purpose of promoting a nation without hate. ALL are welcome!
